Newcastle Music Week is the most unique event on the Australian musical landscape. This cultural and educationally based event encompasses a week of live music, workshops, seminars, and an Industry Showcase that highlights the quality of the Hunter's emerging artists. The festival is coordinated by staff and students of the Music Industry courses offered by TAFE NSW Hunter Institute. Newcastle Music Week is now in its sixth successful year.

Newcastle Music Week is over for 2008. We would like to thank all the people who came out and supported the events this year. As usual there was an amazing choice of genre's to choose from and everybody went home happy. Newcastle is a thriving hotbed of musical talent and this year we showcased some of our best. We look forward to doing it all again in 2009.
