It was the beginning of 2007 when Liam was invited to jam with Andy and Daniel Thomson in the holiday break.
To begin with it was classic rock covers, including The Who and Clapton. But over time the three began to put together their first original, and so "Mind Priorities" came into being.
After much jamming in the holidays under their new name a rhythm guitarist was needed and so Liam's younger brother Daniel joined to complete the four piece.
Since then the four have learned many covers and drawn from them to create their own sound.
All four band members play many different instruments, including drums, bass, guitar and keyboard, and all have a different style to offer.
This makes their live performances very entertaining as they rotate between instruments.
Liam Scarratt is the lead singer and has a great love of progressive and alternative rock, as does his brother Daniel, with slight variations in taste.
The Who and The Beatles have influenced Daniel Thomson, whereas Andy Clews has an interest in punk and modern rock.
Their repertoire of covers includes bands such as Muse, The Living End, Eskimo Joe and various other alternative rock bands.
And they have written many originals in their time together as a band.
Over the year they have been together the four have played many local gigs along with some festivals for charity, private parties,
and have been in the Kool Skools Competition with their school, Brisbane Water Secondary College. The boys won best Indie
Rock Song and Liam was nominated as Best Male Vocalist. Just this year the band has been in the finals of Youth Rock 2008,
winning a special finalist award.
So things have been pretty sweet for Mind Priorities. And the lads intend that their future will continue to offer them more opportunities.

"Caleb Skips Chemistry" is a 4 piece heavy band that hail from the hills of Dungog.
The boys music is a solid integration of Hardcore and Heavy Rock. They take influences from many niches of the music scene, and have been found guiltily listening to acts such as "Kate Nash" and the "Venga Boys" in their spare time. Their own sound, however, has been compared to heavy "Grinspoon" and "Rage Against The Machine" but with melodic sensabilty similar to "Linkin Park".
"CSC" got together waaaay back in 2006 when they were all small boys. Since then they've grown into a powerful rock band. Their live stage presence has always been noted as "great" among punters and frontman "Sam Parmetre" has often been compared to "Iggy Pop".
The band have a "Promotional CD" which is self titled and was recorded late last year. Since the CD's release they have sold 300+ units and still counting. It contains 7 great tracks including the 3 on the myspace. It is available from any of the bands live shows for $5 or if you want we'll post it to you for $7.
So if your keen to hang out with the boys and have some fun at a show, check out "CSC" around the Hunter Valley, Newcastle, Sydney circuits. And don't forget to download their songs onto your iPod so you can be the coolest cat on the block.
